Price, Cost, Pricing

The price for your smog check will depend upon the year, make, and model of your car. Other factors may influence the price (such as an engine cover or dual gas tanks). Thus, older cars, vans, RVs, and certain trucks may cost more to smog.

At Smog Man, the base price for a smog check on a 1996 or newer vehicle is typically $79. For vehicles with model years from 1976 to 1995, the base price is typically $15 higher, because an additional test is required.

With the coupon, that would bring the typical cost of a smog check on a newer vehicle to $59. This is your "total price" and it includes the smog inspection itself, the DMV certificate, and a FREE retest, should you need it. And remember, if you find a better deal, we accept any competitor's test only offer.

We do not charge for the smog certificate until your car successfully passes the inspection. Upon successful retest, the price will be $10, which includes the cost of the certificate and the electronic transfer fees that Smog Man pays for the additional test.
